The majority of Newcastle United fans are not the biggest backers of club owner Mike Ashley.
Throughout his 10-year rule, supporters have been frustrated by the club’s transfer activity, as well as a handful of managerial appointments.
In October, the businessman announced that he was putting the Magpies up for sale, which was met with plenty of joy from the fanbase.
Over the last few months Amanda Staveley’s PCP Partners were the frontrunners to land a takeover.
However, earlier this week, the sale of the club was thrown into doubt when Ashley’s camp released a statement to Sky Sports News confirming that talks had broken down.
Staveley has now given her side of the story in an interview with The Times, insisting that three offers made to the Premier League club remain on the table.
The Yorkshire businesswoman has claimed that bids of £300m and £350m were tabled, all of which had clauses, while a third worth £250m without stipulations was also offered.
After reading Staveley’s account of the situation, Newcastle fans tweeted their thoughts.
