West Ham United will not sack Slaven Bilic before the end of the season, according to The Mirror.
What’s the word?
The spotlight has been on the manager since the team lost three straight defeats at the start of the Premier League season.
Throughout the majority of the 2016-17 campaign, Bilic’s job was under pressure, but the owners kept faith with the Croatian and they are set to again.
The Mirror claims that the Hammers’ hierarchy feel optimistic that the team can get a run of results, with games against Burnley, Brighton and Crystal Palace to come.
The players managed to bounce back from a 3-2 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur by sealing a 1-0 win over Swansea City on Saturday, but it was a late triumph, with Diafra Sakho netting in the 89th minute.
Bilic will come to the end of his contract at the end of this season.
What about Ancelotti?
After the Italian was sacked by Bayern Munich last week, football fans began wondering where the 58-year-old’s next destination will be.
Shortly after the ex-Real Madrid coach was dismissed, a report in the Daily Mail claimed that he was a contender to replace Bilic.
However, The Mirror states otherwise, and unless the East London club fall into a serious relegation battle, then it seems fair to give the Croatian until the end of his contract.
Ancelotti’s CV is one that would impress any club, particularly as he has won silverware while in charge of AC Milan, Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain, Real Madrid and Bayern.
The Italian is used to coaching clubs that are challenging for league titles and European trophies, so taking over at West Ham would be surprising to say the least.
