Tottenham Hotspur are among a number of Premier League clubs that are interested in signing Hoffenheim midfielder Nadiem Amiri, according to ESPN.
What’s the word?
The 21-year-old’s performances in recent seasons have seemingly attracted interest from a handful of big names in the football world.
So far, Amiri has made 86 appearances for Hoffenheim and he has shown his versatility by playing in the middle, as well as on either wing.
ESPN report that Manchester United and Arsenal have joined Tottenham in keeping track of the youngster, who has been tipped to earn his first senior cap for Germany.
So far this season, Amiri has started 11 Bundesliga games and a further two off the bench.
In those outings, the midfielder has scored twice and produced as many assists.
Should Tottenham make a move?
Manager Mauricio Pochettino has proven that he can help develop young players and transform them into first-team stars.
Dele Alli is one example, but the Argentine coach has worked wonders with a fairly young squad.
The team have finished third and second in the last two Premier League campaigns, and this season they managed to secure a draw and win over Real Madrid in the group stage of the Champions League.
Amiri has a similar style to Alli, so could therefore struggle to find a way into the first team.
However, it could also give him that competitive edge to fight for a place, which would boost his overall improvement.
