Bristol City defender Aden Flint shone as his team suffered a last-gasp 2-1 defeat against Manchester City in the first leg of their EFL Cup semi-final tie at the Etihad Stadium on Tuesday night, and Liverpool fans have urged their club to sign the 28-year-old.
The Championship high-flyers had been written off beforehand – unsurprisingly given that Pep Guardiola’s side are running away with the Premier League title – but they held the lead at half-time with Flint also producing a brilliant goal-line clearance with his head as former Red Raheem Sterling looked destined to score.
The centre-back has long been an impressive performer for the Robins, and as well as impressive performances in the backline he has also scored six goals in 22 league games so far this term.
Liverpool supporters were quick to have their say on his display via social media, and while one said “we need to sign Flint”, another demanded the club “sign Aden Flint immediately”.
